VAT is charged at a flat rate of 17.5% on all printing except for promotional leaflets.

Guide for VAT FREE Printing

As long as you follow a few guidelines your leaflets will be VAT free.

• The design must now allow more than 25% of the printed sheet to be unprinted space that could be available for writing on or returning.
• The leaflet must be intended for reading in the hand and now to be placed on the wall for general display.
• It must convey information and not designed to be kept.
• It must not be used as a calendar; to obtain admission to premises; to obtain a discount on goods or services; as reference material; or for completion or return
• A leaflet should be printed on paper to quality for VAT exemption. If heavyweight paper or card is used then this is not classed as a leaflet and will be subject to VAT.
